The countdown is well underway to Saturday 7th November when the Firework Festival returns to light up the night sky and bring the community together for another memorable evening.
A highlight of Guildford’s annual calendar, this festival offers something for all ages. Ticket holders can enjoy live music from the brilliant band The Hired Guns, children’s entertainment, and a fantastic selection of food and drink, all set against the backdrop of a spectacular fireworks display.
What makes the evening particularly special is that every penny of profit stays within the community, helping them support individuals and families facing hardship, fund local projects, and assist a wide range of charitable causes throughout the year.
This year, alongside supporting their club Welfare Fund, the event will also help raise awareness of the devastating impact of knife crime on young people through the Guildford Shakespeare Company’s acclaimed Put Up Your Swords programme. Using drama, discussion and creative engagement, the project encourages young people to explore the real-life consequences of knife crime and make positive choices for the future.
Like many organisations, they face significant increases in costs. Despite these challenges, they remain committed to keeping the event affordable and accessible as possible for local families and individuals.
Children under 16 will once again enjoy free entry when accompanied by a paying adult, while adult tickets are priced at £17 in advance (£20 on the day), inclusive of all booking fees.
Supporting the wider community remains at the heart of everything they do. Working closely with Social Services and local charities, they have already donated more than 500 complimentary tickets to families and individuals who might otherwise miss out on the opportunity to attend.
This Firework Festival is about much more than fireworks. It’s about bringing people together, creating lasting memories, and ensuring that everyone in the community has the chance to enjoy a special evening. The Lions are incredibly grateful for the support they receive every year, because every ticket purchased helps us continue their work supporting local people when they need it most.
Whether you’re attending with family, friends or neighbours, the festival promises an evening of entertainment, community spirit and fantastic fireworks, while helping make a real difference to people’s lives across Guildford.
