HHH Haslemere Concerts has brought top quality professional classical chamber music for almost a century. As well as the finest concerts held at St Christopher’s Church with its wonderful acoustic, HHH is now bringing accessible dates and venues to the wider community; inviting families to come and enjoy.

On Sunday 1st December at 3pm pianist Renata Konyicska will play Schubert and Beethoven at Hindhead Music Centre in their beautiful music room with tea and cakes to follow in the conservatory. Parents are invited to bring children, who may already be studying an instrument. There is no charge for children.

Stephen Dennison, Chairman of HHH Concerts, explains; “We have been welcoming local primary school children to enjoy fine music, live, for over two years now. In November 2024 alone, children from Camelsdale Primary, Shottermill Junior, Grayswood Primary and St Bartholomew’s Primary, all in the Haslemere area, attended one of three concerts of classical, jazz and baroque music. Many of these children heard classical music, live, for the first time. Feedback from head teachers reveals the many emotions expressed by the children; “happy, sad, excited, dreamy”.

Some of the concerts are linked to fundraising for local charities. In November, more than £500 was raised for the Guildford based Cheryl King Trust. The Trust aims that no young person in Surrey should be prevented from learning  a musical instrument because their parents can’t afford it. They achieve this by providing bursaries for instrument lessons and grants for music ensembles.

On Saturdays 11th and 25th January, two coffee concerts, at 11am at St Bartholomew’s church in Haslemere, will host young emerging piano talents William Bracken and Milda Daunoraite (below). The concerts are supported by the Henry Richardson Taylor Charitable Trust. All ages are welcome to these concerts at this accessible time of the day and the week. Coffee will be served from 1030 by volunteers from the Hunter Centre providing daycare for those with Alzheimer’s and respite for their carers. All proceeds from both concerts will go to the Hunter Centre.

During February half term, when families are often looking for something new for young people to enjoy when not at school, HHH concerts will be presenting a concert by teenage prodigy Hugo Svedberg playing his cello with piano accompaniment at St Christopher’s Church Haslemere at 1300 on Tuesday 18 February. In 2023 he won second prize in the Haslemere International String competition; and went on to be a semi-finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year.

HHH Concerts is bringing accessible classical music performance in Haslemere. More information and tickets can be found at hhhconcerts.org.uk.
