St Catherine’s Prep School in Bramley isdelighted to celebrate Maren Kelly, who has received the prestigious Primary Science Teaching Award in recognition of her outstanding teaching and dedication to inspiring young scientists. They are especially proud to be the only independent school to receive this honour this year.

Maren now joins a distinguished network of more than 200 Primary Science Teacher College Fellows across the UK. She has also been selected to represent the UK in a two-year international project led by Science on Stage Germany and supported by the GEA Foundation — one of just 20 teachers chosen from over 150 applicants across 26 countries.

This May half term, Maren will travel to Klaipeda as one of only 10 UK delegates attending the European Science Conference, where she will showcase excellence in science teaching on an international stage.

Science at St Catherine’s Prep is vibrant, creative and hands-on, with pupils exploring everything from lunar rocks and meteorites to eco-engineering projects that bring learning to life through real-world experiences.

Everyone are incredibly proud of Maren and the inspiration she brings to the next generation of curious, confident scientists.
