Walking at Winkworth

Join us as we launch social walks at Winkworth Aboretum – The National Trust.

This is an opportunity to develop your fitness through walking, explore nature and meet others at the same time.

Are you a keen walker, or looking for an opportunity to walk more regularly? Would you like to spend more time in nature and discover more of Winkworth?

Join our friendly team of volunteer walk leaders for walks on both well-loved and lesser-known routes around Winkworth. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors, explore new places and meet other local people. At the end of your walk, refreshments will be available from our visitor centre cafe.

These are leisurely, scenic walks of approx. 1 – 2 hours that visit notable points within Winkworth Arboretum. The walks are generally level, but there may be steps down and a corresponding climb back up the hill to the visitor centre. The walks are generally not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Elevation is 170ft descent and 167ft ascent.

Walks will take place on roughly the first Monday and third Tuesday of each month with a maximum capacity of 15 walkers.

Days and times may be subject to change, so please always check the website first.

Please note that to maintain the comfort of both some people and some dogs, we ask you not to bring your dogs along to these walks.

These are free walks. Admission into the arboretum applies.
