Wayward Jane’s music is a modern interpretation of American Folk and Old Time traditions, blending roots music with fresh, nuanced arrangements and original songs. Their rich sound features Fiddle, Claw Hammer Banjo, Double Bass, Guitar, Wooden Flute and some glorious close vocal harmonies. Wayward’s live shows have a joyful energy, expressing the fine musicianship and playful chemistry of the four long-time friends. Ranging in mood from bouncing, energetic tunes to tender and soulful songs, Wayward Jane aim to leave audiences with a glow in their hearts.

They have already released three albums to date – “Wayward Jane”, “Old Train”, and “The Flood”. The latter had rave reviews, plays on Radio 6Music, a live performance on BBC Radio 4’s “Loose Ends”, and won them a prestigious slot at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections Festival in 2025.
Wayward Jane are a new band to Grayshott Folk Club but having listened to them, for me they had instant appeal, with lush harmony vocals, tuneful melodies and accessible lyrics. If you don’t know them, be assured that they already have the Grayshott Folk Club seal of approval and you will love what they do. Do check them out on Youtube.

Here’s a little taste of their music: This song is called “Down The River” but be warned, it has an infectious tune that you will find keeps going around and around in your head………………..or is that just me?
