Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem to Be Performed at Arundel Cathedral in May
A powerful performance of Ein deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms will take place at Arundel Cathedral on Sunday 10 May 2026 at 7:30pm, presented by the Leconfield Singers with the English Philharmonia under the direction of Graham Wili.
The orchestra will also perform Symphony No. 29 in A major, K.201 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the composer’s earliest symphonic masterpieces, celebrated for its elegance, lyricism, and youthful brilliance.
Widely regarded as one of the most moving choral works ever written, Brahms’ Requiem offers a message of comfort and hope for the living. Unlike the traditional Latin Requiem Mass, Brahms set German texts drawn from the Lutheran Bible, creating a deeply human and reflective work that has become a cornerstone of the choral repertoire.
The performance will feature distinguished soloists Elen Roberts (soprano) and Dyfed Wyn Evans (baritone) alongside the choir and orchestra in the magnificent setting of Arundel Cathedral.
Tickets are priced at £25 and £30 for adults, with half-price tickets available for children under 18, making the concert accessible to audiences of all ages.
Tickets can be purchased via the Leconfield Singers’ website:

A retiring collection will be taken in support of The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, a local charity providing nursing care at home for children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses across Sussex.
