The Go Godalming Association is an umbrella organisation, covering many of the volunteer and charitable organisations in the town. It is dedicated to promoting and coordinating cultural, social, commercial, and other activities in Godalming for the benefit of the inhabitants and visitors to the town. The association has an executive committee comprising four officers: chairman, secretary, treasurer and membership, plus a representative from each of the affiliated organisations. This committee meets three times a year as an executive and once for the annual general meeting. These four meetings last between one and two hours
At the association’s annual general meeting in March 2026 the current Chairman will be standing down, and the association is now seeking a replacement.
The duties of the Chairman are what you would expect for the chair of a small voluntary organisation and, apart from building a relationship with each of the affiliated organisations, will depend largely on what the person applying would like to make of the position.
