Local hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell is looking for more volunteer retail van drivers and drivers’ mates to help move stock between its shops and warehouses, which are located throughout its catchment area of West Surrey and North-East Hampshire.

Phyllis Tuckwell has 18 shops which sell a wide range of quality second-hand items that have been generously donated by its supporters. The money that it raises by selling these items goes directly towards helping fund the vital supportive and end of life care that it provides for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.

As a driver or driver’s mate, you’ll help to move stock from different shops or warehouses in Phyllis Tuckwell’s catchment area. It’s a strenuous role, with a lot of lifting and carrying involved, so you’ll need to be fit and healthy, and drivers must also hold a full driving licence.

The Retail team at Phyllis Tuckwell is really friendly and welcoming, and you’ll quickly feel at home. You’ll be given introductory and ongoing training, including manual handling training, and will be fully supported to reach your potential. Your support will make a big difference, moving stock to shops where it can be sold, and so helping Phyllis Tuckwell to raise the vital funds that it needs to continue providing its important care to those who need its help.

“Our volunteers are so important to us,” said Julia Morpeth, voluntary services manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “We really value the time and dedication they so generously give, and the skills and knowledge that they bring to our organisation.”
