I have been in love with art for as long as I can remember. When I was just five years old, I drew my cat, Smokey, and entered it into Tony Hart’s TV art competition. If you grew up in the ’80s, you definitely remember the magic of that show! Tony was my ultimate inspiration.
But as it often does, adult life got in the way. Thirty-two years passed without me creating a single piece of art.
Then, in 2021, I fell seriously ill. During my recovery, my doctor gave me a piece of advice that changed everything: “Do something you used to love doing as a child.”
I picked up a paintbrush and drew a bird. I was absolutely shocked by the result. In that moment, my passion was reborn.

Art became my inner peace, bringing me immense joy and calm in a fast-paced world. My deep awe of nature—our beautiful planet, vibrant flowers, and incredible animals—flooded back. I wanted to share this feeling with the world, so I launched Helen’s Heavenly Art, specializing in custom pet and wildlife portraits.
Using a professional mix of pastel sticks, pencils, and pan pastels, I bring your favourite animals to life on paper. My absolute favourite part of the process is capturing each animal’s unique, cheeky personality. I can even create beautiful tribute portraits of beloved pets who have sadly crossed the rainbow bridge.
