Julia Musgrave will talk onCaravaggio: Murderer or Genius. Caravaggio’s paintings inspired many artists from Orazio Gentileschi to Peter Paul Rubens, Gerard van Honthorst and Rembrandt. Yet for many, Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio is famed as much for his criminal record as for his art. This lecture follows the dramatic incidents of the artist’s life and looks at why and how his influence spread so far. Guests are most welcome; come to a talk as a visitor for £7, or £6 if you are a member of another Arts’ Society group. Free parking and a glass of wine are included!
