The lecture this month is “Christmas in Bach’s Leipzig” and will be given by Sandy Burnett, the well known broadcaster and author. He will discuss The Christmas Oratorio of 1734/5” and will start with an overview of Bach’s life and achievements before bringing to life the Christmas story through this magnificent work written for Lutheran congregations in 1730s Leipzig. The talk takes place at The Methodist Hall, North Street, Midhurst. Coffee is served from 10.00am. The lecture starts promptly at 10.45.
