In the second of the Music at the Institute series of concerts, the Leatherhead Community Association presents the Amberg Trio. (Christopher Benham Piano, Lawrence Durkin Cello, David Kirby clarinet) perform music by Beethoven, Turnage, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Gershwin and Pärt.
The Trio began working together to perform and promote the beautiful repertoire and blend of sound for the combination of clarinet, cello and piano. This collaboration was somewhat interrupted by the pandemic but this gave an opportunity to discover and research further pieces from the repertoire. This evening’s programme covers some of the most beautiful music written for this trio combination by some of the greatest composers of their age.
You can see the trio in action in this YouTube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSF78rlNcRY
