SUMMARY:Lobgesang: Works by Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn
DESCRIPTION:The Occam Singers will perform two pieces called Lobgesang (Hymn of Praise) by both the Mendelssohn siblings. Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s work is rarely performed and takes a different form from her brother’s\, being influenced by the music of JS Bach. Felix’s piece was written celebrate the 400th anniversary of the invention of the moveable-type printing press by Johannes Gutenberg in 1440 and follows a more Beethovenian model.

DESCRIPTION:Haslemere Concerts invites you to an evening with Quantor Van Kuijk on the 26th of September at St. Christopher’s Church at 7:30 pm! The highly acclaimed string quartet were the BBC New Generation Artists from 2015 to 2017\, and have performed at Wigmore Hall\, Theatre de Champs-Elysees and the Auditorium du Louvre\, receiving many awards\, including the First Best Beethoven and Best Haydn Prizes in the 2015 Wigmore Hall String Quartet competition. The concert will feature a selection of pieces showcasing the string quartet’s evolution and expressive power!
