Munstead Wood, near Godalming, was the home of Gertrude Jekyll (1843–1932). She created a 15-acre garden which became a place of experimentation for her garden designs. The National Trust acquired Munstead Wood in April 2023 and plans are underway to restore the garden and explore ways of interpreting Jekyll’s legacy.
Katherine Mills is the venue’s General Manager and has worked for the National Trust for 13 years, running historic properties including Polesden Lacey and Nymans. In this talk, Katherine will offer insight into Jekyll’s life and influence as well as provide an overview of the Trust’s work to share this garden treasure.
This talk is part of our Window on the World series.
