SUMMARY:Anna Collette Hunt: Maker in Focus
DESCRIPTION:Anna Collette Hunt is a contemporary ceramic artist celebrated for her intricate insect sculptures and immersive ceramic installations. Drawing inspiration from the natural world\, she transforms insects\, organic forms\, and microscopic details into richly textured ceramic works that spark curiosity and wonder. Her practice blends nature\, storytelling\, and memory\, resulting in artworks that invite close engagement and reward repeated viewing. \nKnown for her large-scale swarms and wall-based ceramic environments\, Anna creates installations that shift between the real and the fantastical. These dynamic arrangements animate architectural spaces\, turning them into living ecosystems where beauty and unease coexist. Her work blurs boundaries between sculpture\, craft\, and environmental art\, offering audiences an experience that is both enchanting and thought-provoking. \nAnna is driven by a lifelong fascination with nature\, cosmic mysteries\, and the fragility of the planet. Themes of preservation\, biodiversity\, and the passage of time run throughout her practice\, positioning her work within contemporary conversations about ecology and environmental change. Each piece becomes a celebration of the natural world as well as a reminder of its vulnerability. \nAt New Ashgate Gallery\, Anna Collette Hunt’s work stands out for its craftsmanship\, imaginative vision\, and ability to transform space. Her ceramic insects and installations continue to captivate collectors\, curators\, and audiences seeking innovative\, nature-inspired contemporary art.

SUMMARY:The British Art Medal Society Annual Student Medal Project\, 2026\, the 33rd year
DESCRIPTION:This annual Project was initiated by the British Art Medal Society to support and encourage the art of lost-wax casting in bronze at British art colleges around the UK\, focusing on the art of bas relief\, a fantastic challenge for young artists to engage in\, and at risk of being lost within the art curriculum. \nThe UK art colleges responded with enthusiasm\, and over the past 33 years\, the results have been remarkable\, as students tackle all the skills necessary to understand and appreciate this art form that has its roots in Renaissance Italy. The art medal\, not to be confused with awards for sports or valour\, is a two-sided artwork to be held in the hand\, where its form\, narrative and skills of the artist can be studied. \nFor collectors\, as with most cast bronze artwork\, it is a multiple\, thus it is an artform that is reasonably priced\, perfect for owning an original work of art. The subjects are tremendously varied\, from landscape to social comment. \nEach year\, prizes are awarded\, and at the New Ashgate\, the results of the 2026 Project are on display\, including the prize-winning medals. If you like the idea of art that can be held in the hand\, passed from one person to another\, or given as gifts\, then the art medal is for you. They can also be commissioned.

SUMMARY:Shorelines and Horizons
DESCRIPTION:Shorelines and Horizons brings together large-scale prints by three significant figures in British art: Trevor Price\, Barbara Rae and Donald Hamilton Fraser. The exhibition focuses on landscape as structure and sensation rather than description. Trevor Price’s woodcuts and engravings build dense surfaces through repeated line\, capturing water\, woodland\, vegetation and reflection with quiet intensity. Barbara Rae’s prints use colour and compression to hold coast\, sea and sky in dynamic balance. Donald Hamilton Fraser’s work centres on horizon and division\, using strong colour relationships to create tension\, depth and rhythm. \nThese are substantial works on paper\, selected for their scale and visual weight. Shorelines and Horizons offers a focused encounter with how three artists approach landscape through print\, each using different means to address light\, distance and movement. The exhibition rewards sustained looking and will appeal to collectors seeking confident\, collectable prints with strong physical presence. Shown together\, the works reveal both contrast and shared ground\, reinforcing printmaking as a medium capable of ambition\, impact and lasting relevance.
