Farnham Sinfonia Autumn Concert

Farnham Sinfonia’s Autumn Concert opens with Haydn’s jubilant “Alleluia” Symphony, a joyful and celebratory work inspired by ancient plainchant. Handel’s delightful Organ Concerto “The Cuckoo and the Nightingale”, performed by Geoff Tuson, is treasured for its melodic charm, sparkling energy and enchanting birdsong imagery. The programme also features Malcolm Arnold’s brilliant Clarinet Concerto No. 2, performed by Poppy Beddoe. Written for the legendary jazz clarinettist Benny Goodman, its dazzling, exuberant finale is guaranteed to bring the house down. The concert concludes with Beethoven’s radiant Symphony No. 4, composed during one of the happiest periods of his life it glows throughout with warmth, lyricism and good humour. A concert not to be missed!
