Dorking Museum has been mounting a number of blue plaques in the town recently, commemorating individuals who have lived in the town (such as the female aeronautical engineer Beatrice Shilling) or special locations (most recently, the former Strawberry Studios site). Now, for the Museum’s latest family activity, here is a chance to Create a Blue Plaque for Yourself! How would you like to be remembered in the future? What are your hopes and dreams? Create a blue plaque to commemorate the life you hope to lead! Or create a plaque for someone else. This activity takes place at Dorking Museum, 62 West Street, on Saturday 5th July, 10am to 2pm. It is a free event, with materials provided, and children must be accompanied.
