A Unique Insight into how this all began, Wintershall’s Mission and what it’s like to be involved
On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the Guildford and District Knights of St. Columba are hosting a fascinating talk at St Dunstan’s Church in Woking, shedding light on the intense preparation and personal transformation involved in bringing the Bible characters to life on stage. Stephanie Pena will join us to share the behind the scenes story – she has recently played the parts of Mary Magdelene in the Passion of Jesus and Angel Gabriel in the Nativity and also works as part of the Education programme at Wintershall. Attendees will hear first hand about Wintershall’s history, purpose and plans for the future whilst also learning about the mental and spiritual challenges of playing characters from the Bible, how the character shapes the actor’s perspective, and what it means to embody such a figure.
