BilliLit is back for its second year celebrating the written word. Bringing together poetry, fiction and drama, plus writers’ workshops there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. We kick off on Friday 25 April in the evening with a Poetry Open Mic, hosted by Sussex poet, Simon Zec. Poets are invited to read their own works at this lively event. Saturday 26 April is Authors’ Day – featuring 10 authors discussing and reading their works covering a wide range of genres. A day ticket is available for under £20 and includes all the author sessions and prize giving ceremony. On Saturday evening, two one-act plays will be performed – Lights & Bushels bring “My Second Best Bed” to our stage (also on Sunday); a new play, “Mannequim” will be shown. These can be booked singly, if you wish to attend only one. Sunday is Workshop Day with fantastic sessions for aspiring and experienced writers to learn and be inspired. “How to Get Published” “How to structure a Gripping Novel” “Objects and Art in Visual Poetry” and “Sizzle and Substance – how to promote your book” are our standalone sessions.
The event takes place at Women’s Hall, High Street, Billingshurst. Parking is at the Library car park.
