AppArt Celebrates 30 years of Art Exhibitions at Easter.
Grayswood couple Evelyn and Gwyn Phillips, founders of AppArt, celebrate 30 years of holding exhibitions this Easter. In 1994 an Arts for Everyone grant kickstarted an Arts festival at King Edward’s School. 30 years later, that is still the underlying mission of AppArt. AppArt continues its tradition of having a very eclectic mix of artworks so there is something for everyone to experience and enjoy. The current venue is Prior’s Field School and the event has grown into one of the major art exhibitions in the South East of England.
This year Rosa Sepple will open AppArt 2025. Rosa has exhibited with AppArt for many years and is a past President of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. She has been likened to Marc Chagall and “her compositions are bursting with vitality and primary idiosyncratic colours, which ingeniously weave together figurative and fantasy, always delighting the censorious eye.” There is often an element of cheeky humour in her paintings.
