Looking for something special to do this weekend to really enjoy this wonderful weather? The Surrey Hills Spring Fair is the perfect way to welcome the sunshine and celebrate the onset of Spring. Set in the beautiful grounds of the Rural Life Living Museum in Tilford, this two-day event is bursting with springtime cheer, fresh air, hands-on activities, and heritage fun for all ages.
When: Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th April
Where: Rural Life Living Museum, Tilford, GU10 2DL
There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about the scent of cut wood, the hum of a steam engine, and the joy of kids running free in the great outdoors. At this year’s Spring Fair, you can expect a brilliant blend of traditional country crafts and new things to try – all set in 10 acres of open-air space.
Get stuck in with creative hands-on fun:
- Make your own soap, paint pottery, and try pyrography
- Plant seeds, build scarecrows and create willow art
- Step back in time in the Victorian laundry, have a go on a Penny Farthing or help make a cart wheel
- Try your hand at quilling, corn dolly making and even pencil crafting
Don’t miss the chance to ride the steam train or hop aboard the trailer pulled by a steam roller, see vintage fire engines, and try traditional fair games like welly wanging and aunt sally skittles.
Live music from local Surrey Hills singer-songwriters will keep the atmosphere lively and relaxed, while the Food & Drink Arena is packed with local produce and tempting treats – ideal for a picnic or a quick bite between adventures.
It’s a brilliant way to spend time outdoors, reconnect with nature, and celebrate Surrey’s rural heritage – whether you’re seven or seventy
