Reclaim Fashion at Phyllis Tuckwell’s Shops

29th September to 5th October is Charity Shop Fashion Week and Phyllis Tuckwell is embracing its theme of fashion reclaimed!

Buying preloved items reclaims them from being lost to landfill. There are so many stylish and good quality second-hand clothes to be found in charity shops, some of which have barely been worn! And with every item you buy from one of Phyllis Tuckwell’s shops, you’re helping to support local Hospice Care, too.

Phyllis Tuckwell has 18 shops across West Surrey and North-East Hampshire, all of which sell quality, preloved clothes, shoes and accessories. Its Retail Centre in Farnborough holds week-long kilo sales from the first to the second Saturday of every month, 9.30am – 4.30pm. It has rails and rails of trousers, tops, shorts, shirts, skirts, jumpers, jackets, shoes and bags for you to look through. Simply take your chosen items to be weighed and pay just £7.50 per kilo!  Buying preloved doesn’t have to mean a trip to the shops, either. Phyllis Tuckwell also sells items online, so you can shop when and where it suits you, and find your perfect look.

Browsing for preloved items might also throw some alternative fashion ideas your way, and you could find yourself trying out a new look. Phyllis Tuckwell’s shops sell a huge range of styles, and on its rails you’ll find high street brands sitting alongside high-end fashion, retro and vintage pieces. With low prices, you can afford to experiment with styles and accessorise your look with shoes, bags and scarves. If you’re handy with a sewing machine, you could also upcycle your bargain buy, making it unique to you and reclaiming it as your very own, individual piece.

Every item bought from one of Phyllis Tuckwell’s shops helps it to continue providing its vital palliative and end of life care to local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. Every day it supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers, but as the NHS/Government only covers around 25% of its costs, it has to raise over £25,000 every single day to do this.
