Petworth’s Secret Garden Event will be open this year, on 8th June 2025 from 1pm-5.30pm,  promising a delightful treasure trail around Petworth.  From large country gardens with sweeping vistas, exquisite courtyard gardens, to abundant ‘no dig’ organic allotments, there will be something for everyone.

Ticket sales on the day, music, entertainment, and plant sales will be in Rosemary Gardens, with a children’s trail around the gardens  and delicious refreshments available in Leconfield Hall.

This wonderful day out is run in support of Petworth’s Community Wellbeing Garden, (formerly Petworth Community Garden,) which will  also be part of the trail.

This community charity is accessible for all ages and abilities and has been run for the community by the community since 2005. Working with locals from all walks of life including wheelchair users, people with  learning disabilities, physical disabilities or other support needs, families, children and older people,  locals work together in friendly integrated groups according to need and ability. Projects include, Tuesdays ‘Learn and Grow’ accessible gardening day, Wednesdays Men’s Shed rural crafts, Thriving Thursdays therapeutic gardening,  and across the projects, ‘Stepping Stones to Work’, Plot to Plate cookery,  ‘Jammy Dodgers’ preserves. More recently, responding to the cost of living crisis, the charity has developed a community outreach service, delivering fresh produce to locals signposted  from the food bank. All projects aim to make gardening and rural crafts, healthy local food and community wellbeing, accessible to all.

Secret Garden Trail Tickets are £8 with children under 12 free, students, 12-18’s and Universal credit are £5.
