Free Halloween family fun comes to Godalming this half term

Families are invited to become Halloween detectives this October half term as a brand-new FREE trail comes to Godalming town centre.

Running from 17th October to 1st November, Discover Godalming’s Halloween Headscratcher sees the return of local character Godfrey the Goose and his friends for a special Halloween adventure.

This time, Winifred the Witch, Godalming’s number one Halloween party planner, has fallen off her broomstick, bumped her head and forgotten where she left everything she needs for her Halloween party. Young detectives are being called upon to help find her missing items and save Halloween in Godalming.

Families can pick up a FREE trail booklet from Godalming Museum, Godalming Library or Small & Mighty, then follow a series of clues through the town centre. Each one leads to a local business where one of Winifred’s missing Halloween items is waiting to be discovered. Families can start wherever they like and complete the trail at their own pace.

The trail is aimed primarily at children aged 7–12, although younger children are very welcome to join in with a little help from their grown-ups. There are extra Halloween puzzles and activities in the booklet too, and children who complete the adventure can enter a prize draw to win one of three Halloween Jellycats.

And the Halloween fun doesn’t stop there!

On Saturday 31st October, from 10am–2pm, families can dress up and join in with Trick or Treat in Godalming. Look out for participating businesses displaying the official Halloween Sweet Stop poster and pop inside to collect a sweet treat.

Both activities are completely FREE, making them a great reason to spend some time in Godalming over half term. Explore the town’s independent shops, stop for lunch or a hot chocolate and enjoy a little Halloween magic along the way.
